What Everybody Ought to Know About Video Marketing?

by Josh Garcia on August 9, 2010

Video Marketing

Have you recently sat back and realize the power of video marketing?

If you take a look at the growth of YouTube and all other video hosting sites. It is growing in leaps and bounds.

Do understand that video marketing is becoming more popular TODAY than ever. Are you noticing a trend in seeing more video blogging?

What I like about video blogs, you can still provide text for SEO purposes and then a 3-5 minute video.

You can even view video blogs on a mobile device. With the plugins that are available today you can turn your blog into a mobile friendly blog. So now individuals will be able to view your video right in their phones.

Here is why you should take advantage of video marketing:

  1. Creates CREDITABILITY
  2. Creates TRUST
  3. Individuals will do business with you since they see you and see that you are LIKABLE

With video marketing you can promote a product, service, or yourself. It is a lot easier today to create a video with use of video cameras and screen capture software. Within 10-15 minutes you can produce a high quality video and in 30 minutes have it publish driving traffic. It’s that easy.

Before you go to create your video, Let me share with you 4 video marketing tips to jump start your marketing:

  1. Don’t make it any longer than 5 minutes. Get your message out with a call to action.
  2. If you are using a camera. Make sure you are looking directly at the camera. Keep it eye level, so you are not speaking looking down at your audience.
  3. Go ahead and create a channel on YouTube and to post your video. Now, you can embed the video onto your blog post by copying the HTML code.
  4. YouTube is not the only video hosting site. You also have Viddler and Revver.

If you follow these simple guidelines you will be able to produce a high quality video within minutes attracting traffic and leads to your business. Here is the best part of it all…IT’S ALL FREE!

Here is what I’m willing to do:

I will do a special webinar going over simple video marketing tips showing you first hand the simplicity of creating KILLER videos. If you never done video marketing this will show you how simple it is to create a video. If you want to generate free leads for your business then go ahead and register below for the webinar.

Hi Josh,

awesome advice. A video shouldn’t be longer than 5 minutes, definitely. The shorter, the better. Thanks for sharing.

Take care

Yeah, keeping it to 5 minutes is great. Address the problem, provide the solution, and reiterate what you just solved for the viewer.

Hello Josh

I love and hate video :)

Interesting in that I just wrote a blog post about being uncomfortable, and videoing myself is something that I am uncomfortable with.

Reply

Josh Garcia August 9, 2010 at 4:41 pm

Hi Peter,

The best part is that you don’t even have to be on the video. You can create killer videos with powerpoint slides and do a voice over.

Josh,

Video is so critical, in fact YouTube is now the second biggest search engine after Google, which means that those of us who are NOT doing video (myself included) are missing out on almost 50% of the search traffic out there.

Video marketing is definitely a great way to be seen and recognized; moreover, the best way to get on the first page of Google without too much effort or backlinks.

I love your point about keeping the video short, Josh – too many people love to hear themselves talk too much:) !

Hi Josh,

Can’t agree with you more. Video is the in thing. Particularly important is the point that you made about SEO. Though the search engines cannot index video and audio, this could be overcome by having keyword rich filename, URL, title and description. And you could be listed on SERPs in a matter of minutes.

Cheers

Hey Josh,

Video is powerful. I love that you’re doing a webinar about it because so many people put it off too long. They need to get comfortable creating video.

That’s also why I give away a video course on my blog, to help people get the camera out and do it!

Great reminders of why people are missing out without video. ;)

Hey Josh,

I have become very good ( in my opinion) on tutorial videos. I use the Jing program that in my mind before I get started I know that I have 5 minutes at max to complete the video. This not only allows me to get the video and the content across in a very precise amount of time, without a bunch of mumbling about non-sense but also gives the watcher immediate solutions to their problems.

I just made a video today on how to insert a link into content by using HTML code, which many people do not know how.

I want to say thank you for reminding me why I do what I do , with my videos. I even made a two part video series on how to set up a Twitter account, hot to use bit.ly (url reducer ) and others. While we know how to do many of these things, it is amazing how many people still don’t know how to COPY AND PASTE!

But everything else we are 100%.
Not only that I can tell you that some of the keywords I want to rank for are dominated by a video on the topic and I’m talking loads of backlinks yes there is power in the video!

One of the things I hate about videos is they take me forever to make, in fact one video could take me all day. I’m a little bit of a perfectionist so I never seem to get it right. But y our post has some great ideas, one being don’t make the video any longer than 5 minutes. Perhaps for someone like me breaking up my messages in to smaller videos is the answer. Thanks for the great tips.

Some of my content if not found on major search engines by my blog, you do find the video summary online.

Another great place to post your videos, if a paid member is Better Networker. The small fee is well worth it.
