If you own a blog. I know that you are constantly thinking how can I drive more traffic to it.
I gotta say that social bookmarking is one of the coolest way to drive more traffic. It is becoming very popular and profitable.
Understand social bookmarking does fall in the web 2.0 where people can share sites they find interesting. This is the best part, sites like Digg and Stumbleupon are high page rank sites and can deliver a great amount of traffic to your blog.
Where to start
This is the part that takes the longest, creating accounts with the social bookmarking sites. Once these accounts are created you are minutes away from creating backlinks to your blog. Remember these are high relevant backlinks to your blog. You’ll have to provide a bookmark category that you feel fits with the article. And that is it!
You don’t have to deal with article submissions or press releases. It’s that simple! Now, I’m not discounting article marketing or press releases. These are powerful on their own as well.
Don’t get locked out
There is one thing I do want you to really understand…Social bookmarking sites hate spammers and they will stop it. They love the community getting involved. So, if someone feels like what you are submitting is spam it will get flagged and flag you as a spammer. When this happens, your account will be jeopardize.
It is a good thing that individuals keep it clean. Otherwise, you’ll only see garbage material on these sites.
How to prevent from getting the boot
Always post great original content on your blog. Be careful of only submitting your own stuff. Meaning your URL showing up constantly in your own account. You want to submit other post that you come across and feel other people would enjoy reading it.
If you only submit your own work. Your account will get shutdown. Remember it is community driven. Can’t be selfish!
One more benefit of social bookmarking
When you or someone else bookmarks an article it has the ability of receiving votes. The votes can be a thumbs up or down. This allows the article to move up the ranks and receive more popularity. When your article is popular, you will be receiving more traffic.
If you post great valuable information and it gets a great amount of votes. It show up on the front of the social site. You will receive so much traffic that your web hosting company will call you to see what in the world are you doing.
So now you know not to ignore social bookmarking. Include this in your traffic building plan. It is simple, zero dollars, and powerful. Just one more thing…Please submit this by hitting the Digg button on the bottom right for me.

Social bookmarking is more than powerful it is essential if you really want to drive traffic to your site.
As with all social sites playing by the rules is necessary.
A well dugg piece of content can go viral and blow up your web-host server! Great for you, bad for your web-host!

Great Job here man. You brought up some topics that most people skip in social media posts. Like the thumbs up, thumbs down comment. There are many more factors than just submissions. Titles should be taken very seriously when submissions to social media are involved. It’s usually the only thing visible on the home page.
