You ever wish you could find a quick reference list on SEO marketing.
Well, today I want to share with you Do’s and Don’ts for SEO marketing. My goal is to help you receive better ranking and ultimately more leads.
Understand that you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to master SEO marketing. Just get a grasp understanding of the basics. Over time you’ll start to get a little deeper with SEO.
I’m not sure if you realize that just by understanding the basics you are already ahead of the competition.
Take this information that I’m giving you and print it out. By following this list you could never lose in the game of SEO marketing even if the big G changes their algorithm.
Let’s get started!
What to do:
1. Focus on targeting your SEO on local niche or local markets. When you do this you can actually beat some of the “top dogs” even on popular keywords.
2. Build links with relevant blogs or sites.
There are 2 ways to accomplish Link building with relevant sites and blogs.
- Make sure you create rich content and other sites or blog will link to your blog. This creates a one way reciprocal linking.
- Reach out to other blogs that are in your niche by providing them a reciprocal link.
3. Make sure you update your SEO content on a regular basis. Realize that search engines love to see fresh new content.
4. Be bold and test your online marketing SEO ideas. Don’t be afraid of doing this. This is how I learn what works or doesn’t. By doing this step alone you’ll separate yourself from your competitors quickly.
5. Make sure you use some form of web analytic tool. I like to use Google Analytics. This allows you to track the activity on your blog or site. The more data you have about your blog or site. The more you’ll understand what works and doesn’t.
What Not to Do:
1. Do not duplicate another blogs or website copy. Search engines uses spiders to crawl your content to see if your material is duplicate or original. If it detects the material to be copy it will punish your rankings.
2. Do not switch your domains. All search engines love to see longevity on domains. I see this happening at times. Someone starts with a blog for several months and then decides to use another domain.
3. Do not put anyone else material on your blog without asking for permission. Some bloggers will give permission to use their material as long as you provide the credit where the content comes from.
One of the key components of mastering online marketing is not forgetting the fundamentals that work. That is why I like to revisit my basic fundamentals to keep focus.

Every site should be optimized for the SERPS. Its easy to do and has major rewards.
The basics you have covered here is more than enough to get the ball rolling. Throw in some good keyword research and you will be well in your way to getting some great traffic.

I have recently found a new love for testing. Oogle Website Optimizer is the IT- SH! You can test anything online and see which is better converting. Pretty darn awesome if you ask me.

I want to make a point about #3 of your don’t list – it’s very annoying when you’re on the receiving end of that, when someone uses your content without your permission on their blogs. I think there are blogs today that are created automatically and they’ve got bots that scour the internet for content. They just rip off what you have. I’ve had some EzineArticles rejected because those content stealers don’t put the rightful author name on their stolen content.

This is awesome. I have been learning more and more about SEO and it has helped me rank higher and higher.
When I started my efforts I would search long tail keywords and optimize them, using Google. The words I would use were searched between 250,000 to 500k a month. So I would have better changes of ranking #1 on Google.
