Understand that generating traffic from any of the social bookmarking sites (Digg, StumbleUpon, or Delicious) can be rewarding. It’s OK, to submit your content to these sites to get some traffic to your site or blog. But let me share with you that you don’t want to do this every time.
The key here is not just bookmark your own content but others as well. You don’t want to look like you are selfish and self promoting your content. Do you remember the secret I shared with you in my video about generating free online traffic?
Receive good quality backlinks
When you bookmark good quality material and others see it valuable. It will be viewed, voted, and shared. When your content is being shared it is receiving backlinks. Realize that search engines love this. It will increase your traffic and Alexa ranking.
Provides content research for your business
Social bookmarking sites are design to provide you the reader with content. A lot of times you can find answers to your business. Realize that social bookmarking sites have great valuable information to propel your online presence to another level.
When your information is valuable and it is bookmarked by readers it will provide you with exposure and traffic.
Now, do you see why I say that you can’t ignore social bookmarking?
This is such an overlook area of generating traffic that I hope people will bookmark this content so it will get shared with a lot of individuals. Great place to start is with Digg or by hitting the Digg button on the bottom.

Social bookmarking is big business. Business for the bookmarking sites and big business for your own site if done correctly. As with all social sites, spamming them is frowned upon.
The key is to create content which people want to share and bookmark. Its ok to give them a little nudge and ask them to Digg, Tweet or whatever, just be nice about it.

Can’t people hit that Onlywire button below your post and submit a bunch of bookmarks at once? More and more people are turning to the bookmarking sites for info, because they look at that info with more weight than a lot of stuff floating around on the internet cause actual people had to submit it.

The Onlywire button is the way to go!
For those that don’t have an account with Onlywire they still can submit daily post by hitting the Digg button. Now, since I have an account with Onlywire. Whenever I see that button on someone’s blog I always submit it to a minimum of 12 Bookmarking sites.

I just did a quick Analytics check and over 7% of my traffic in the last 30 days has come from social bookmarking sites.
Add to that the 15% that has come from Twitter and Facebook and we’re pushing 23% of my total traffic that has come from some sort of “social” site.
Yep, I’m gonna keep right on using this stuff. I’ve got the proof that it works!

Social Bookmarking is very powerful when used. There isn’t a huge learning curve. Just have to dive in it and start bookmarking. Watch what happens to Alexa rating and traffic.

Most people may not believe it, but just using the social media buttons on a site can greatly improve a sites Alexa rating. I know the more I see that mine is hit, the more social media traffic I get.
It is a great way for readers to show their appreciation for the work involved in the site.

Social Bookmarking is a great way to generate traffic, rankings, and readership. It is not utilize as much. That is how I been able to get my rankings to improve over time.
If you are not using Onlywire, you are losing so much traffic it is not funny. It takes time to set up SB accounts. But you only have to do it once.
