Do You Know That Social Bookmarking Is Your Best Friend?

by Josh Garcia on February 24, 2010

Social Bookmarking

Today say hello to your new friend…social bookmarking! I will explain the power of this service and tool to use. It is the best way to store, share and search bookmarks created by different people. People save websites/blogs using a bookmarking service and then it becomes available to the internet world who want to view the pages/post.

Why you should care about social bookmarking

It is a fun and easy way to share your favorite websites/blogs with other people. Do you know of a blog or specific page on a blog that other people would find interesting or useful? Then bookmark it through a social bookmarking service so others can view it.

Why is it important for you to use social bookmarking

It will help create incoming links and traffic to the blogs that are bookmarked. If you submit a blog post, other users might find it useful. This will result in generating traffic to the blog. It may also increase the search engine ranking.

If you choose to bookmark a blog with many different social bookmarking services, then the website link will be counted as a backlink from each of the separate services. This can give a lot of backlinks to the specific blogs you decided to bookmark at the several different social bookmarking services.

How do you social bookmark

First you need the Onlywire button. Then create an account and sign up with all the services that are available (StumbleUpon, Digg, and Technorati). It will take some time setting up your account. But it will be all worth it!

After you created all the accounts with the social bookmark services add the plugin button to your blog and the browser. The reason Onlywire is so powerful you can submit a page or blog with one click to over 15 bookmark services.

Here is the best part…It is Free! They do offer a paid version but the free version gets the job done. Now, when submitting…are you ready for this — it only takes 3 seconds to submit a page to several services. You don’t have to worry about adding a title or keywords it will automatically collect that information from the blog post.

You may submit one or two of your own websites or blog posts, but do not spam the services with your own work. If you do, you will be cut off from submitting anything to the services.

You have to keep a generous balance between your own blog post and other blog post you regularly visit. That is why it is important that you submit others blog post not just your own. Just Keep sharing useful or interesting information, articles and videos you come across while surfing the internet.

Hint..Hint…Hint…Don’t forget to bookmark this post by hitting the white Bookmark and Share button below. :)

But before you go, go ahead and share this with you friends on Twitter & Facebook by pressing the 2 little buttons on the top right (blue & green button) :)

Hey Josh

Social bookmarking is very powerful. I think people underestimate just how powerful it can be and all it takes is the click of a button.

Hi Dwayne,

You are correct! People underestimate the power of it. Reason being is because they are not sure how it works and why.

That describes ME :) I don’t know how social bookmarking works. But I’m a fast learner. Thanks for your info on that topic, Josh! Btw. I need to take my “Share This” plugin off or disable it before installing “Bookmark & Share”, right?? As you can tell, I’m no techie :)

Good evening Josh,

I haven’t been hearing enough about social bookmarking
lately. It’s almost like it’s a secret.

But when you look at sites like Digg… crushing sites with
massive amounts of web traffic… you have to wonder.

There’s huge untapped potential here.
