This is one of the ways I really like to market myself…article marketing. It is a powerful marketing tool to use along with your other marketing venues. You may think that there are too many individuals writing articles and submitting them to article directories. Or you may think everything has been said…If they haven’t heard it from you then it hasn’t been said yet.
Writing and submitting articles is one of the easiest, most effective ways to market yourself. As you market yourself it drive free traffic to your website. You are seen as an expert in the topic. That is why I say, “if you have not heard it from me yet…you have not heard about it.”
For an article marketing campaign to be successful, your articles need to be well written, informative and interesting. I’m going to list the top 10 secrets on driving traffic to your site through article marketing.
1. If you just published a new site or blog and want it indexed by the search engines. Writing an article on a niche topic on your niche site or blog will get the it indexed quickly.
2. Article marketing allows your articles to be published by other publishers and posting it on their site with your resource box. This allows a one way backlink to your site. By having a lot of backlinks from other sites will allow your site to ranked higher in the search engine.
3. When submitting articles, make sure it is based on several keywords. This will allow your article to also capture more traffic through SEO (search engine optimization).
4. Make sure your headline will grab your readers attention. This will make them click on your article. Always write your headline after you write your article.
5. Your headline should deliver to the reader what your content is about.
6. Always create a call to action to make your readers click on your site after reading your article. Provide this in the resource box with a backlink to your site.
7. Take a break after writing your article. Re-read and check for spelling mistakes before submitting to article directories.
8. You should always have something to write about. What books are you reading about? What CD, MP3, or Video are you listening too? These ideas should be flowing.
9. Your articles need to be keyword rich. Don’t just place a bunch of keywords and end up making the article look bad. Strategically place them through out.

By far article marketing is one of the best methods to drive web traffic and create a viral marketing. As more and more publishers publish your content on their site you get more readers which equals more traffic.
