If you have been reading the other three personalities and saying to yourself that is not me. Here you go…the phlegmatic personality. Phlegmatic are supportive, steady, and reliable ones. They prefer their worlds to have order. They want a stable environment with security and consistency.
It is important to know this when building your network marketing business. Most network marketers come from the employment world. In their eyes, they have been trained to think that a job is security. When you are working with a phlegmatic person show them the stability of your marketing system.
Phlegmatic like their space and possessions, so be careful about invading their personal areas or touching their stuff. They need time to get comfortable with you and build up trust. Despite this, they are generally very friendly, neighborly, open, sincere, and relationship oriented.
How to work with a phlegmatic…
This personality enjoy building relationships. However, they expect the process to take time. Phlegmatic are very patient and willing to put in the time. They may be hesitant about contacting strangers. Know they enjoy knowing people on both a personal and business level. That’s why, when mentoring a phlegmatic you need to show an interest in them as not only a team member but also as a person.
Why you want phlegmatic on your team…
Phlegmatic people are well liked and people respond favorably to them. They will typically win a prospect’s admiration and approval. They create an informal and non threatening atmosphere. Let’s not forget that they are good listeners and can deal with problems and objections thoroughly and systematically. Reason being, they will typically examine issues from the other party’s perspective and look out for the other person’s best interests.
Are phlegmatic risk takers…
Other key points about them, they enjoy their home time and may find it difficult to be away from it outside of expected times. They are not pushy people, and in some cases this can cause problems, if it is necessary for them to ask direct and probing questions which can make them uncomfortable.
Phlegmatic are not risk takers…they are cautious people who take time to make their decisions, and they want others to help by affirming their decisions. They expect that you will not only present, but also explain, all the value in what is being promoted. They want you to show them you have the specific solutions to their problems.
Now you know all the four personalities…
Since we cover all of the personalities you can see that communication has to be delivered differently for every single one. If you are just one type of personality, you will have to adopt to the other person’s personality type. This is very important especially when you are building a team and you want to have very high retention rate.
As you build your network marketing business and you identify different personalities learn how to communicate with them. For instance, I’m a choleric personality. I have to constantly remind myself that melancholic and phlegmatic like things structured and precise. On the other hand, with a sanguine all I have to do is say something with a story and excitement.
