Warning: Taking Action May Cause Success To Your Business Blog…

by Josh Garcia on May 5, 2010

Taking Action

As a business owner you hear all the time that it’s all about taking action.

Why is it that some folks that start their online presence within months they are able to create an authoritative blog. D0 you think it’s about their work habit? How about the number of hours they put?

It all boils down to one thing. They take action!

Yes, of course at the beginning you’ll have to develop the work habit. Don’t forget about the hours that you’ll need to put in. Some folks actually think that just positive thinking will get the job done. Let me share with you that positive thinking is good to have but it is only a percentage of achieving online success.

When you start taking action is when you’ll start making an impact in this tough world of internet marketing. By taking action you’ll start to feel better at what you are accomplishing.

It starts in the mind first

Believe me that everything you want to accomplish first has to start in your mind. If you know deep inside your heart that you are going to be the next known internet marketer. You automatically start working and taking action to accomplish it.

I’m going to go over a very powerful statement that is implanted in my subconscious mind. If you believe in yourself that you’ll accomplish whatever goal you set to have with your blog. It will only happen if you take action! Making excuses, procrastination, or flat out laziness will prevent you from having you achieve your goals.

Do you realize that when you say that you are going to do something and it doesn’t get accomplish. You begin to start destroying your self-confidence. Easiest way to build up your self-confidence is by starting off small and working it till you get comfortable. Now, don’t stay in this stage too long.

It’s about the right work

Here is the deal, I don’t care where you are at with your internet presence. I know that with the right amount of work and consistency you will gain a presence. Understand that when I say work I’m not talking about organizing your paperwork or cleaning your desk. That is wasteful work. I’m talking about take action by studying what the successful bloggers are doing and implementing them.

So let me finish by saying that you must take action today!

Go ahead pick up the aluminum bat and step up to the batters mound. I give you permission to start swinging the bat. Eventually you are going to hit the ball and feel really proud that you took action by just stepping up with the bat in your hand.

Hey Josh,

For me personally, my procrastination is submitting my articles to multiple directories. I know I have to do it and I have been known to give the excuse of “I don’t have enough time.” I do have a smaller window, working full-time. But I have to look at where I may be “wasting time” and use it for productivity.

I look at the first few months of starting my blog where I did nothing but tweak and change it. There was no action and I was motivated in March from reading the many blogs I follow to finally take action. Why? I knew if I didn’t nothing would happen with my business. I learned if you think you are doing enough and nothing is going on, you need to do MORE.

My saying is, “Life sometimes throws you curve balls, some wait for their right pitch, I hit curve balls.”

Great piece of writing as always.

Have a great day!

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for sharing, that you are holding back in submitting to directories. Now, that you made that announcement I know you will be taking action. One of the first step to taking action is addressing the problem and removing any excuses. Kudos my friend!

Have a great day!

Hey Josh ,
Taking action is the hardest part and many people just wait to get perfect and then take action and infact you only get perfect by taking action and that is how the muscle in our body grows when it is subjected to immense pressure to lift a heavy weight. It is a simple rule out here you take action and get the feedback and no action would get no feedback and you won’t fail but you won’t get anywhere. Thanks for the post.
Have a great day

Hi Yadvinder,

That is right! The only way to get better at something is by taking action. I like to say, by swinging the bat.

Hi Josh,

I love that you brought up the fact that by putting things off, not doing what you planned on doing, you destroy your own self confidence. That is really important to note.

One thing that is going to make a big difference is the confidence you have in yourself. You will gain that as you consistently DO the things you set out to do.

Great post!
Susanna

Hi Josh,

At one stage I was wondering about how I could take my obscure blog somewhere and really started to have doubts about whether it was worth the effort. So your last paragraph really rang a bell with me. I decided to start studying successful bloggers and take action toward my goals, and it’s working.

Thanks my friend,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

By studying the successful bloggers and visiting their blogs you’ll learn so much. That is great that you are studying bloggers. I’ve notice that your Alexa Ranking jumped significantly over the last week almost 600k. Keep up the great work!

THAT TITLE IS AWESOME MAN!!

“Warning.. action causes success” – that’s hilarious but it’s true. Most people don’t ever take the time to GET STARTED and that’s why they don’t get RESULTS. Tony Robbins says with massive action you get massive results and we’re perfect examples of this.

My site was ranked 17 million on April 10th for goodness sake.. that’s less than a month ago.. I still got a long way to go to reach you but with the right mindset and right action plan – the only difference is time

thanks for sharing this, I hope this wakes people up.

talk soon,
Hector

I can really relate to this post, Josh. I try to add a little extra to each day and search for that one thing I can do that will be a little more efficient and get me a little more traffic. Then, I look back at the things that I have been doing and try to decide if that effort was really worth the time.

It’s just like marketing. You have to do something, test, tweak your efforts and keep repeating until you win. There is no going back and no failure allowed.

Hi Josh,

Great post and great headline. It’s sad but true. Some people just can’t seem to even get started. I have several family members in our business. Some are successful but the ones that really need the added income just can’t seem to take any kind of action. Even though I have paved the path and shown them it can be done, even given them all kinds of training and help. Oh well. Some will, some won’t , NEXT!

Hi Melodie,

Sometimes you must continue to move on even if it’s a family member. Especially when you see so much potential in them that they don’t see for themselves.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for stopping by!

If more individuals just picked up a bat and started swinging. They will realize that at first you will get a little sore but after a couple of swing you’ll get into momentum. Same goes with business.

Hey man,
Taking action is one of the biggest business killers in this business. People want to learn and learn and never implement because they worry what people think. Or they are worried about everything being perfect and never do anything. Paralysis by analysis.

Positive thinking is good, but if it’s not followed by action nothing will happen. As the great Wayne Gretzky said … “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Very true!

Awesome post, Josh. When you take action, providence will move to make things line up for you. You get rich by making things happen. Mindset is definitely very important, just as you mentioned.

Don’t be afraid of failing. Many of the successful people today got there because they failed many more times than everyone else. Know that the stones in your path will eventually become milestones if you don’t quit.

Thanks for sharing.
