If you missed the first personality that I talk about here is the choleric. The next personality type are the sanguine. This personality type are what we think of as the true people person. Regardless of what is happening in the economy, the sanguine is the one to continue to convert prospects because they are high energy and optimistic.
When you are building your network marketing team you want to have sanguine. Their ability to persuade people with their outgoing personal fuels their self confidence.
Sanguines are great in one-on-one situations. They meet people easily and are great at building rapport with anyone. Sometimes they are extremely talkative, so you need to make sure they don’t get too wordy, particularly in presentations. Make sure you encourage your sanguines to follow presentations because they run the risk of being a bit ‘off the cuff’ and can be guilty of trying to ‘wing it’.
What to do with the sanguine…
Be careful if your business has to deal with paperwork, because this is not an area that sanguine excel at. They have tendency to avoid this kind of work, so you need to make sure you are on top of them at all times.
Another challenge is that they are always very quick to make a promise. Unfortunately, many promises are made but some are not kept. This is because sanguines can be overzealous in their presentations and they want so much to satisfy others.
How to work with a sanguine…
Sanguines have great people skills (you will find that people tend to naturally respond to sanguines) and must be given freedom and independence in order for them to thrive. They run the risk of over estimating their potential and a good mentor will keep them in check.
One of the habits a sanguine has, may run late for appointments and may lose focus easily. They can be guilty of talking more than listening and therefore may be oblivious to closing signals…therefore miss those opportunities.
Other key points in working/mentoring sanguine personalities include the fact that they try really hard to be liked and can at times be too sensitive to criticism. They are the types who see the good in everyone and therefore run the risk of sometimes misjudging people.
On the positive side…
Sanguines are typically fashionable people who name drop, but at times can be seen as too self involved because they talk about themselves too much. They respond to goals that provide awards and recognition…In other words, they want to be #1, so give them that opportunity.
It is fun working with sanguine’s because they tend to be the life of the party. If you are mentoring someone who is sanguine you can never praise them enough.
If you are a sanguine and you are working with a choleric remember that the choleric like things straight to the point (I know you want to paint the picture). This is probably one of the most common mistakes sanguine’s make.
By identifying your strengths and improving your skills it makes it easier when you are building your network marketing business. It doesn’t matter if you are just putting a site together, making a phone call to a prospect, or just organizing yourself. By knowing this information it will help you grow.
