Network Marketing Leadership: Are You In the Makings Of Becoming a Leader?

by Josh Garcia on March 31, 2010

Network Marketing Leadership

When a new person gets started in a network marketing business.

This is usually one of the first question being ask, “What does it take to be a leader?”

Becoming a leader in any business let alone in a network marketing business one must be willing to see themselves as a leader.

Understand that leaders are typically people that are willingly to accept the role as a leader.

What are some of the makings of becoming a leader?

1. Providing Value – When you are seen by other people as someone who provides value by teaching. Your values will be recognize by those who’s lives are being improved. A leader is always giving to help others and it is recognized. People are attracted to those that give and serve.

2. Sense of Value – A leader knows they have self worth. Don’t confuse this with arrogant or cocky. You must put a value to yourself. All leaders carry themselves in a very particular way. You must know that what you have to offer to other people is worth something valuable. When you have a highly self worth others will see how valuable you are as well.

3. Always self-improve – Leaders never stop working on themselves. They are always adding more value to themselves and giving back to others.

If you notice there is a pattern in becoming a leader. You have to become a master of always working on yourself. When you work on yourself you are adding more value to point where people will recognize it.

Remember this when you think you’ve reach the top there is always someone right behind ready to go even further. So don’t stop working on yourself!

So never stop growing and you will never stop leading.

Hey Josh,

Great tips on leaderships – they are vitally important.

As a student of leadership, I prefer to take John Maxwell’s approach to leadership and that is…
“Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less.”

When we can influence others, the better off everyone in the team will be.

Have an awesome day,

Josh,

One thing that should be added to the list is having a desire to help others. It goes hand in hand with being a leader, but there are too many people that forget network marketing is about building a team. The more we help those around us become successful, the more successful we become.

Cheers

Byron

Hi Byron,

That’s right! That is one of the core principle in leadership. All leaders should have the desire to help others. That is what makes the successful leaders who they are today.

Hey Josh

This is a good summary of a leader.

A sense of value is important, you have to know what you are worth otherwise you will appear needy or you will placing a low value on yourself which will only attract people of a lesser value.

Hey Josh,

Great way to sum up leadership!

If I were to add one thing it would be, “Leaders own their mistakes”

Admit it, learn from it, then move on.

Hey Josh,

These are excellent points and the best leader is the one who is willing to
still learn. There are many leaders that fail because they are not open for
improvement and that is what makes one great.

Hey Josh,

Great points! A great leader is someone that is still open to learning.
Like you mentioned, some people get that cocky attitude and do not
want to listen to advice becasue they are ‘above that’ and those are the
people that have success and you slowly stop hearing about them.

Have a great night,
