If you look at people who are successful in network marketing business, you will find that all of them have one thing in common: They are confident about themselves and what they do.
No, you do not have to be outspoken or assertive about your ideas, but believe in what you can do.
The missing component
Having self-confidence has something to do with knowing yourself and what you are capable of doing. It is hard to be confident about yourself if you’re not even aware of who you are.
If you find yourself always keeping your ideas to yourself and being very self-conscious as to whether other people would like you or not, then perhaps you need to boost your self-confidence some more.
What you can do
So perhaps you’re wondering about how can I achieve my goals by having self-confidence. Well self-confidence enables you to assume responsibility for the fulfillment of the goals you set.
When you are self-confident, you will learn to attribute your success to yourself. This is one of the best forms of self-empowerment, and by having self-confidence, other people will also learn to be confident about you and your work.
Are you a risk taker?
People who do not have self-confidence do not usually take risks, and in reality, successful people do take risks. But in order to achieve your goals, you need to be confident, not overconfident.
While it helps to be optimistic about yourself and your plans, one method on how to achieve your goals is to be realistic as you use what you know to plan on achieving the goals you have set ahead of you.

Hey Josh,
There are some good lessons here! One thing that most people fail to do, also one of the number one reasons for failure, is to get outside of their comfort zone. Successful people have come to terms with living in the area that is just a little bit outside their comfort zones. The majority of people are unwilling to do things that make them feel the least bit uncomfortable and that is why they will never be successful.
Great post,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thanks for stating that. Comfort zone is a dream stealer. People need to step out of it if they want to accomplish anything in life. That is a great question, What are they willing to do that the majority are not doing? This question alone, will force someone out of the comfort zone only if they want to.
Enjoy your day…
Josh
Hey Josh,
Some great points here! Stepping outside of your comfort zone is a must and facing fear head on is the only way to overcome it and move ahead.
There is a fine line between being confident and over confident. Over confidence leads to arrogance and that is when mistakes and bad decisions are made. Plus it’s just not “attractive” in any way.
Make it a Great Day!
Twila
Hi Twila,
Yes, facing fear head on is the way to overcome anything. Most people get paralyzed when facing fear and get stuck. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Enjoy your day…
Josh
Josh,
I love what Earl Nightingale says about this, “they exude confidence”.
Having confidence is a skill that may take people a long time to adopt. Unfortunately, some will never have it. For those that do, great things can happen for them.
Here’s a special tip I have my team do in order to build up confidence.
I put them into the most uncomfortable position, but I don’t just throw them into the fire. I set the expectation for them that this will not be easy and they will succeed.
I found those who are willing to take on this challenge, they start building up their confidence. They are confident they can do it irregardless of the result.
The fact of the matter is sometimes the result may not always be a good one.
However, if they take notice of this and learn from it, then eventually they can succeed.
So, there you have it, my special tip for building up confidence.
Catch you later,
Jerome Ratliff
Hi Jerome,
Thanks for sharing that information!
Quick question, “Do you have your team walk on fire?”…LOL! I never done it, but I’ve known of individuals who have. It’s all about mind over matter.
Have a great day…
Josh
Hi Josh,
Great points — I just wrote something very similar on my blog!
Confidence is sexy, too, man! LOL
Hi Derek,
That’s great! Great minds think alike.
For some reason after reading you comment the song, “I’m too sexy” just keeps playing over and over.
Enjoy your day…
Josh
Hey Josh,
Love the video there. Also the point about being a risk taker is really key. As you say, it is also important not to be over-confident, which is when complacency starts to kick in.
Great post my friend.
Wayne Vassell, signing out…
Hi Wayne,
Thanks! I saw that video yesterday and it triggered this post. Be able to take risk will allow you to shine to levels you never dreamed of. Can’t be afraid of taking risk.
Have a good one my friend…
Josh
Hey Josh
Confidence, standing tall, walking proud all stems from belief.
Confidence is whats turns heads, gets people attention and attracts like a super magnet.
The more you grow and self develop the more confidence you will acquire. Use this confidence in the correct manor and the world will be your oyster.
Great post, great video
Putting Value First
Dwayne
Hi Dwayne,
Thanks for sharing this info with the rest of us. I like to ask individuals are you a belief builder or belief stealer.
Building people’s belief is what I really enjoy doing. Watching someone going from one end to the other is gratifying.
Enjoy your day…
Josh
Hi Josh,
Great topic! Confidence is so important. I love how you also included not to be OVERconfident. That can be dangerous.
I remember one presentation I was doing, and was nervous about. When I first started talking it took work to keep my voice from shaking. After about 2 minutes one guy suddenly grabbed the notepad in front of him and a pen and started taking notes, a few seconds later the others in the room did the same.
That gave me a RUSH of confidence and completely wiped the shakiness away. The rest of the presentation went so smooth and well that they all looked disappointed when it was over. They wanted more… It’s amazing what confidence can do.
Hi Susanna,
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for sharing that story with the rest of us. That is a great message we can learn from. From your experience I learn that you can’t be afraid to expose yourself even if it’s an environment that you are not familiar with. You never know who you can impact.
Stop by again!
Josh
Hey Josh,
I am known for taking risks. Not always the smart ones growing up. But if something bad didn’t happen others would soon follow. And when things went bad, hey, I had a whole group of people to help me put that totaled out GSXR in the back of a pick-up truck.
Seriously though, I love the direction you took with this post. It feels like a subject I can relate to. More than half of my life has been a leap of faith.
Thanks for putting out more great material.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for sharing!
Everything I do is done on faith! A lazy man will never succeed. However, a man who takes action along with faith, will always succeed.
Have a great day…
Josh
