When writing your post for your blog or an article you have to keep in mind 2 components.
Are you going to just focus on keyword or copywriting?
When starting out it can be a challenge to focus on SEO copywriting.
Therefore, by just concentrating on a specific targeting keyword will get you going. Now, if you can do copywriting with targeting specific keywords…Now you’re talking!
Let’s quickly cover concentrating on a specific keywords.
I’m going to guess that you have already know about keyword search. We must assume that by targeting a specific keyword you have already done your keyword research that you want to rank well for.
One of the biggest mistakes I see individuals make is not putting the keyword in the page title, it helps as well to have it in the URL.
When you’re writing the page it’s important that you write as if you are speaking (naturally). The key component to remember is don’t over stuff it with keywords. Just make sure you use the keyword near the beginning of the page and at the end of the page.
While you are writing your post try to place one or two keyword as anchor text. You can even change the font or bold the keyword.
When you have a good SEO copywriting post. Don’t neglect to include a good description in the description meta-tag. I was guilty of this at the beginning, not realizing the important role it plays.
Write a short, accurate sentence describing your content on the page and include the targeted keyword. This is the information that is displayed within the search engine’s page after someone does a search.

Enjoy your day!
Great post Josh..
The mistake most people make is that they get too hung up with SEO that they start writing for the search engines, as oppose to their readers..
In order to do it right, we gotta execute a BALANCED combination of both..
Thanks for this great info.

These two components is like writing their own check to success. HA! Just saw you said that. Jinks!
Seriously, it’s really important to do these wherever and whenever possible. If it can’t be done, don’t sweat it. There will be plenty of other opportunities.

Hey Josh, Great advice on something I stuggle with. I’m still not sure what the meta tag is.
Is that part of the SEO pack in WP, where you once again put in the post title, write a short description, then add keywords again? Someone told me after looking at my site I needed to use meta tags…thought I was : /
My brain isn’t wired like you guys’ are! LOL

Hi Josh,
Great stuff … again!! I love learning about this SEO stuff and am trying to do better on SEO copywriting.
Quick question. When you say…
“While you are writing your post try to place one or two keyword as anchor text. ” Do you mean hyperlink them? Or what exactly is an “anchor text?”
Thanks, and have a terrific day!

Hi Ilka,
Yes, it’s a clickable text with a hyperlink. Now, you don’t just want to select any word and make it an anchor text. Make sure it plays with your SEO strategy on the post.
Have a great day!
Josh

Josh,
Great post on a very important topic. One thing that we also have to keep in mind is looking at the competition of key words that we are putting into our blogs we want to be found for. If we are competing for the same few words that everyone else is, it will be much harder to be found at the end of the day. Definitely go for the long tail approach.
Cheers
Byron
Happy Monday Byron,
That is awesome what you just shared with us. I love going after long tail keywords. It has less competition.
Enjoy your day!

Hey Josh,
Great post today!
You really do have to have both keywords and copywriting. There must be good readability or your visitors won’t come back!
Thanks!

Enjoy your evening!
Hi Josh,
Love the topic, and now I’m looking forward to the video as well.
For the description I generally use the first part of the article itself. It’s easy to repeat some of the keywords from the title, in your opening sentences.
You’re also trying to grab your readers attention right in the beginning of the post, and that’s exactly what you want to do with that description, to get the click.
Sometimes I need to tweak it a little, but it sure makes it quick and easy to fill in that section!
Great stuff Josh!

That is a great tip! I as well use the same first paragraph. Like you mentioned, there are times that I have to tweak it so the keyword is in the description. This is one of those quick tips…Thanks for sharing it!
Have a wonderful day…
Hey man,
Chris’ comment is dead on. You absolutely must have both of these two or the results just won’t be there.
See Ya,

Hi Eric,
You are dead on! Both must be there in order to flow properly. However, if someone isn’t strong at copywriting. The bare minimum to do is write as if you are talking to someone while using the keywords.
Enjoy your day…
Keywords are like the start of everything.
To bee seen by the SERPS keywords are essential.
Once you have them, the rest is up to your own creativity.

Hey Josh,
Combining these two things is definitely the way to go, it needs to sound natural and keep the visitor hooked but it also needs Google love to get them to see it in the first place.
More challenging than it sounds.
Great post have an awesome day

When I first started writing posts it felt a if I was learning to drive all over again… OK I learned to drive in a manual gear change car so there was a lot more to do… ha ha…. so many things to try and remember to get right but the more you do it the easier it gets and using keywords and effective copy is something that does get easier with practice. Thanks Josh.
