Target a Specific Group of People
Here is what I mean…
Let’s say you have a blog about self repairing cars. Most likely your target is going to be men between 25-40 years old. Are you going to target all men? Or be specific?
Here is the way, I would go about targeting that market…
My blog would be more specific in providing information for men between 25-40 years old, who repair Honda cars. Or I will target 40 year old men who own BMW’s. Do you see what I’m doing here?
By targeting a specific group of people I can focus more on generating the right type of leads.
This can be applied to any brick & mortar business out there. The trick is to make it go online with a blog. By targeting a specific group it makes it easier to generate leads and make money.
If you are not targeting your market. You are basically wasting your time writing post for pleasure and not making any money.
When you have a target market in mind you’ll be able to speak their language and connect with them much quicker.
Remember to always target your market! That’s it! Period!
Narrow Down on Your Customers
Ok…I’m going to use another example here. Let’s assume that you have a blog on losing weight. I know…this is a highly competitive niche. However, hear me out on this one:
Target men over 35 that are about to get married, Men over 40 who are bachelors, Women who just gave birth (left out age on purpose, don’t want to receive a tons of emails), or men over 40 who just got divorce.
If you apply these blog tips onto your business and blog you will generate leads and most important you will make money.

I’m laughing because I’m noticing a trend today with our blogs. It starts with getting into NM, to how to drive traffic, now specific target markets. Did we plan this?? LOL
Great tips you have. Defining one’s target market is essential. Some say you only have 2 target markets in NM; those who are already involved and those who are actively looking. I say break them down even more and get as specific as possible…like you did in your examples.

The biggest mistake that most people make is trying to be to broad with their target audience. If you are zeroed in a specific audience, it will make it near impossible to be successful. However, if you are lazer targeted in your research and blog appeal, you may not get huge amounts of traffic, but the traffic you do get with convert very highly.

I once wrote and article about how I came up with the idea for an article, to teach how to write an article.
Needless to say, it was highly targeted. I like to use titles sometimes that target specific age groups. Things like songs that were popular in their high school years work great.
