3 Video Marketing Tips That I Debated To Tell You or Not!

Video Marketing Tips

Do you realize that video marketing is not going away?

In fact, it’s a very powerful way to get your message out.

Today, video marketing is spreading over the internet faster with effective messages from business owners.

It’s a great tool to add to your mix of marketing strategies. As the technology for video marketing gets better and easier to distribute. You are going to see more business owners taking advantage of it to move their business to another level.

I love doing video marketing and I’m learning something every time. I’ll tell you first hand that some of my most view post are with videos.

I’m going to literally save you time and make you more money either by generating more leads or selling a product.

Let me share with you 3 video marketing tips that I’ve learned the hard way.

1. Know what you want to accomplish. Before you hit the record button have an idea what you want to talk about. Know what points you want to get across to your audience. Understand that the video is for long term affects so plan it properly.

2. Finish with a call to action. You don’t want to record a 2-4 minute video and not end it without a call to action. Always tell your audience what you want to them to do next. It could be as simple to sign up to your opt-in form or share the content.

3. Be You. I should have put this one first! You must use your own personality when doing a video. If you don’t it will show in your message. The key is to be You. Remember that you are the only person created in this planet. So you are very special and use your personality.

Remember to mix up your marketing with video and article content. It will boost your readership. Not only will your readership increases so does the credibility.

I’ve notice that with video marketing my opt-in has increase. I’m only going to think this because people know who Josh Garcia is. Therefore it builds credibility and trust. People like to do business that they trust and like.

Here is one last tip… It doesn’t have to be perfect!

Just go and create your first video. I do ask you for a favor, please come back and let me know when you created your video.

Good Morning Josh,

These are great tips on video marketing. I personally
love to make videos and I am currently developing
a series of videos for my marketing company and
for my opportunity.

Another way I like to promote a video is as a summary
for an article I written or a blog post. Just a quick 1 minute
video summary of that article.

Have a great day,
Tommy D.

Good Afternoon Tommy,

That is great that you are creating a series for your business. What a great way to get more exposure!

You can’t go wrong having short quick video summaries on your blog.

Have an awesome day!

Hi Josh,

Those are all vital tips for videos.

For some strange reason videos seem scary at first. After a few of them, they aren’t so scary.

Just like anything else, grabbing some tips like these, and then the more you do it, the better you get at it.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hi Susanna,

Yes, videos do seem scary at first. The major reason is because you are now stretching yourself to another form of marketing. After a few recordings, it’s just like putting up a written post.

Had a fantastic weekend! Now I’m ready for another level of business or better yet stretching myself.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Josh,

Great tips there and the one I think is best to remember is that it does not have to be perfect!

Hi Marcus,

When I did my first video. I was trying to be all perfect. Then I realize that people are going to accept me who I’m. Therefore, it doesn’t need to be perfect as long the message is clear & concise.

Have a wonderful day!

Yes you are on the spot. The first video doesn’t have to be perfect and lot of people wait
for perfection and then take action infact they never take action at all. Perfection automatically comes with more and more practice so just do it guys.

Josh Garcia April 26, 2010 at 1:30 pm

Hi Yadvinder,

Thanks for sharing that! You don’t need perfection when doing a video marketing. However, it sure does get easier with the more you do them.

Have a great day!

Josh, I hope you had a great weekend buddy.

Video marketing is great and to a degree easier than article marketing (I can see that becoming a blog post).

It not being perfect is a great tip to have up-front as people hold back from doing videos because they want it to be spot on. JUST DO IT!

Happy Monday

Hi Dwayne,

I agree that it is easier than writing a post. You can shoot a video in 1-3 minutes and have it up on the blog post in 15 minutes. Sometimes I just want to do video marketing. However, written post stands stronger for SEO content.

Have an awesome day!

Happy Monday Josh,

Those are some great tips!

Just like writing a blog post, you need to have a game plan about what you are going to talk about.

All three are great and I must admit, I never thought about having a call to action on a video even though I do blog posts. Makes sense the same concept would apply.

Thanks for sharing these great tips!

Hi Twila,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Yes, the same strategies you place on written post. You’ll want to apply on a video. I’ve seen videos with awesome information but no call to action after it was done. I was saying, “Great video! But what do they want me to do next?”

Have a great day!

Hey Josh,

Some great video marketing tips there buddy.

I think the biggest point, in my opinion, is being yourself. You can try and copy someone else’s style but your viewers will see through it.

Great advice.

Well, I am glad you didn’t hold back on us, Josh:).

Great tips, especially the first one.

I used to make videos because I had something to say, but I never gave it a second thought whether somebody wanted to hear what I had to say.

Now I choose a topic important to my potential views first, then do keyword research, and voila – I have a winning formula.

Hi Derek,

Videos create a credibility almost instantaneously. The great part is that your audience will get to see you and feel the bond.

Smart guy…You have your wife doing the video. LOL

I have not gotten into video marketing yet but I will say that it is interesting to me. It is also a little intimidating as I feel a little freaked out about people looking at me on camera :-) I am sure that I am not the only person who feels that way.

There are a lot of people that do presentations and talk on their videos. I think that this could be a lot less stressful and intimidating especially for people who have never done video marketing.

I like what you said about being yourself. I think that this is very important with anything you do. People are smart enough to see through the facade. No one wins friends doing this. :-)

Great article!

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for stopping by! It’s great to see you here.

Starting out with presentation and doing a voice over is a great way to start video marketing. It’s important is to mix it up so you can connect more with your audience. Stop by again!

Have a great day!

Hey Josh,

Good tips on video marketing. You been hitting these out of the park lately. Personally, I haven’t dabbled too much into video marketing. So, I see myself putting these to use. Right now I’m focusing on another area before I enter back into VM.

Sometimes you just got to stick one thing and get really good at. That’s where I’m at. Before you know, I will be ready.

Talk to you later Josh,

The best one on here is to just create a video. So many people are worried about getting things perfect, that they get paralysis by analysis. Just do and make a video. Doesn’t matter if it’s crap or awesome, just matters that you do it.
