Most of us procrastinated things within our life. Some of you that are reading this are procrastinating something right now! Procrastinating ruins our motivation to do what it takes to get our dreams or goals accomplish. The longer you procrastinate the longer you put off experiencing the joy of hitting your goals and getting what you want.
Here are three short keys to eliminating this deadly disease of procrastination:
1) Start.
Just get started. Do not wait for the time to be right. It will never be just right. Do not wait until you are strong enough. You are strong enough right now. You need to start. Waiting only leads to more fear, hesitation and excuses. The sooner you get going the sooner you can begin gathering valuable experience.
The quickest answer to knowing is doing. Do what needs to be done and you will learn what you need to know along the way. Stop letting procrastination stop you. Start taking action. Start from right where you are now.
2) Habit.
Make doing it now a way of life for you. Get in the habit of saying “I do it now” whenever you are required to take some kind of action. Rather than waiting for the best time to take the initiative just do it right now. You will good about yourself and you will develop a powerful habit. You will become known as a person who gets things done because every time you have work to do you go about doing it instantly.
3) Priorities.
Firmly establish your priorities. Decide what matters most to you. Choose where you will spend your time today. Determine which actions you are going to take each day. Go through these steps first at the beginning of every morning. Know what you are going to do and when you are going to do it. Leave no room for rationalization.
Cast your plans in concrete and work them through to completion. Do not let yourself off the hook. Divide your time between your priorities and work without putting anything off to a later time. Decide in advance what you will get done each day and stick to your plan no matter what.
