Hey Josh,
Thanks for linking to this post. It is very helpful and I recommend that anyone that has a blog should check it out.
Thanks,
Jordan.
Hi Jordan,
You got that right! Anyone who owns a blog needs to read it.
Wow Josh,
That was a great article! I’m so glad you shared it.
I think reading each of those points, before writing every blog post, would go a long way in how much you put into it.
I really enjoyed it. Thank you!

Hi Susanna,
I’m glad that you enjoyed it! Knowing this does help out a lot.
Hey Josh,
Certainly a very divisive post over at Copyblogger, which is such a great resource, by the way. The one that hit me the most was having a background in science and engineering, as I have. Pretty much they were telling me I had no hope!
I’ll try to be more controversial from now on…
Take care,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Controversial always works. Just can’t do it all the time.
Josh,
If it always works, why couldn’t you do it all the time? Don’t those two statements negate each other?

Hi Chase,
If you are always writing controversial post every time you’ll bored your readers. It’s great to mix it up.
Josh..
Their content certainly doesn’t suck.. that was a great article. I think I’m gonna print that puppy out and paste it on my wall..

Hi Josh,
This is indeed a great post. We will never have take note of the warning signs there and there is no action for any improvement. Its good that we know that now and start making improvements.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lye,
It’s best to get expose to this now and not later.
I read this post when it first came on coppy blogger and I believe it is actually the post that linked me to this site through a comment. None the less the post made me really take a good look at what I was doing with my blog. I actually was happy to see that the last warning sign was that your blog would suck if you were just starting out.

Hi Michael,
This post will open your eyes.
The biggest warning sign is probably if you promote it heavily and do not get any recurring visitors. Tools like google analytics can be used to measure returning visitors.
Hi Andreas,
Google analytics is a must have!
Josh,
Thanks for sharing…great stuff. Just reposted to my onlywire friends.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for stopping by and sharing it!
Hi Josh,
Thank you for sharing this great content! It’s definitely a “print out and safe” article. What really got me is … to write at least 1,000 words a day. I don’t do that, but I will definitely start doing that. I think that’s a great idea.
Again, thanks for sharing this and have a great week!

Hey Josh,
Thanks for sharing this valuable blog post. It really open my eyes on what I have to look for in order to improve. I been blogging for over 6 months now and I have seen some progress. But this post here will definitely be a great guidline for any blogger here.
Sherman
Hi Sherman,
Use this outline for guidance. There are way too many individuals who are blogging with blinders on. Now, you know more than the average blogger.
Hey Josh,
Great post! I’m definitely in the less than 6 month category, but I’m a quick learner and a “do it now do-er” and I’ll do what copyblogger says…and just keep going!
Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…

Hello Josh
Thanks for sharing that article.
Let me see, I have spoken with readers on the phone, read more than 10 hours per week and I have received hate email over my video on cash gifting.
So I am off to a good start
Hi Peter,
That is good to hear that you are on the right path.

Hi Marcus,
Your welcome, Champ!
Hi Josh – yep that post captures the essence of creating Blog ratings. To play devils advocate though – I guess it does depend on what the Bloggers intention is as to whether they are succeeding.
I have no doubt a rant or diatribe about the latest uber celebrity or political or dare I say religious Blog would definitely produce the desired attention which is why schlock jocks do so well.
Personally I think if you are communicating authentically to an audience with similar interests and reciprocating- as with this forum even with modest participation the benefits are worthwhile
Thanks for sharing

OK, now that was an eye-opener!
I’m consoled by the fact that I’ve only been blogging for about 6 months & I am going to get better.
I guess it’s like anything in life – the more you do it the better you get at it!

Hi Joshua,
We all have made multiple mistakes.
Hey Josh,
Thank you so much for sharing that post, it was an eye opener for a fact, while most of my content is 500-750 words, I have found anything over 1000 you will start losing readers. UNLESS it is just a great story that has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I am definitly going to take these into consideration before my next blog post. I have found for myself though, I can write out maybe 10 or 15 posts ( because I have the fire that day) and save them to be published in the future.
Hi Robert,
If you are posting one article a week, then I can see doing a 1000 word post. But when you do more than one a week 500 – 750 words is sufficient.
Josh wow thanks for reminding me I am doing 19 out of those 20.
No seriously I have been guilty of some.
I think when you really give your blog a purpose you want have to worry about that.
You can never please everyone but that’s not who I’m writing for either.
