If you are reading this, most likely you provide some sort of content marketing to an audience.

The most common ways of delivering content is blogging, video, email marketing, or ebook.

The whole purpose of delivering your content is to educate individuals on topics which they are having an issue with.

After all, some of your content will be used for lead generation or converting a prospect into a consumer.

There is one point I do want to make, individuals are looking for information to solve their problems. If you are able to deliver a solution it builds trust, credibility, and authority.

Since it is important that you deliver quality content within your content marketing strategy. Sometimes I see mistakes that are way too often in content marketing.

1. Ignoring your audience needs –

This has to be the number one mistake a lot of individuals make. Ignoring what your audience is looking for and not providing solutions.

When you are able to identify problems and able to connect with people. It becomes a lot easier to generate leads or sell products/services.

2. Not providing updated fresh content -

When you are not providing updated fresh content you are losing your dedicated audience and possibly consumers. Your audience will begin to explore other sites/blogs where they can get similar information.

3. Neglecting or forgetting SEO –

For some reason, individuals neglect this important part of their content marketing when blogging. You don’t have to be an SEO wizard to benefit from it. As long as you take some time to study keywords and its density it will help you with search engine rankings.

4. Content is not focus driven -

This is a huge drawback in content marketing. If your content is not focus and it is all over the place. Your readers are not going to be able to receive the information and be turned off. This is an easy way to lose a potential lead or prospect.

5. Thinking online tools replaces good quality content -

This is a mistake desperate individuals make. They start spending money on all kinds of black hat SEO tricks. When they should be focusing on creating good high quality content. Black hat SEO tricks work temporary not long term.

Understand that content marketing is about you being able to create unique content that your audience is going to learn from. With you delivering valuable content you will generate leads and have conversion.
