Let me share with you something that I’ve learned over time since I write everyday for this blog.

If you are starting your blog or had a blog for a while but not really gaining any traction. Take a close look at your writing style.

Whenever you are writing your blog article know that it is different than writing a book that you want to publish. The main goal of your writing is to provide fresh effective content.

If you get really good at these rules for writing blog post. You’ll be achieving loyal readers and building relationships.

Here are 3 rules to follow so you can build your loyal readers. I was able to gather these rules by visiting so many blogs and watching what readers like and don’t like.

Rule #1: Allow your article to be able to be scan by the reader in seconds

I want you to remember that people who visit your blog are always in hurry. Therefore, they don’t have the patience like you do when you created the article.

You want to make it possible for the reader to scan your article in seconds by using subheadings with bold letters. This allows the reader to scan your article from top to bottom and have an idea of the points.

By you using bold subheadings I will bet you that you will attract more readers. (I’m not really a betting man)

Rule #2: You want to make sure you are brief but yet detailed

Start off by packing as much info as you can in each paragraph. Do you realize that most of your visits are gonna come from search engines? Therefore, pack some info in those paragraph that you are writing.

After all, the individuals that landed on your post from search engines are hungry for information. So give it to them!

I read a study where individuals that visited a site and it was lacking what they were looking for. The individuals would avoid that site or blog because they remember how the site or blog was lacking the info in the past.

This is why some sites or blog re-design the whole thing so people that visited it the past won’t remember.

Rule #3: Make sure your articles have personality

The main reason you want your articles to be alive is because you can go on the search engines and you’ll find colorful sites or blogs with graphics, photograph, and videos.

So if you are writing a ‘How To’ make sure to use screen capture images or photograph. Have the readers eyeballs all over your article.

You do realize that getting traffic to your site or blog is just half the battle. The other half is to get them to read the post.

Here is a good rule of thumb to go by. The longer a reader stays on your site the higher chances they will purchase something or opt-in to your list.

By following these short simple guideline you’ll be able to attract readers and build a loyal readership base. This is a good strategy to implement right way to increase your traffic.

You ever wish you could find a quick reference list on SEO marketing.

Well, today I want to share with you Do’s and Don’ts for SEO marketing. My goal is to help you receive better ranking and ultimately more leads.

Understand that you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to master SEO marketing. Just get a grasp understanding of the basics. Over time you’ll start to get a little deeper with SEO.

I’m not sure if you realize that just by understanding the basics you are already ahead of the competition.

Take this information that I’m giving you and print it out. By following this list you could never lose in the game of SEO marketing even if the big G changes their algorithm.

Let’s get started!

What to do:

1. Focus on targeting your SEO on local niche or local markets. When you do this you can actually beat some of the “top dogs” even on popular keywords.

2. Build links with relevant blogs or sites.

There are 2 ways to accomplish Link building with relevant sites and blogs.

• Make sure you create rich content and other sites or blog will link to your blog. This creates a one way reciprocal linking.
• Reach out to other blogs that are in your niche by providing them a reciprocal link.

3. Make sure you update your SEO content on a regular basis. Realize that search engines love to see fresh new content.

4. Be bold and test your online marketing SEO ideas. Don’t be afraid of doing this. This is how I learn what works or doesn’t. By doing this step alone you’ll separate yourself from your competitors quickly.

5. Make sure you use some form of web analytic tool. I like to use Google Analytics. This allows you to track the activity on your blog or site. The more data you have about your blog or site. The more you’ll understand what works and doesn’t.

What Not to Do:

1. Do not duplicate another blogs or website copy. Search engines uses spiders to crawl your content to see if your material is duplicate or original. If it detects the material to be copy it will punish your rankings.

2. Do not switch your domains. All search engines love to see longevity on domains. I see this happening at times. Someone starts with a blog for several months and then decides to use another domain.

3. Do not put anyone else material on your blog without asking for permission. Some bloggers will give permission to use their material as long as you provide the credit where the content comes from.

One of the key components of mastering online marketing is not forgetting the fundamentals that work. That is why I like to revisit my basic fundamentals to keep focus.

I do know that most people don’t have any form of marketing skills and I’ll say that is OK.

2) Be a solution solver. Once you know the pain that your target market is having. All you have to do is provide the solution for your audience. This is going to allow you be in a leader position. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you are in. It works for every business that is available today.

3) The beginning of relationship building. When you implement an attraction marketing system your goal is to have a converting blog or site. The most common method is by having an opt-in form to collect your prospects name, email address, and phone number.

The best way to collect your prospect information is by offering something in value that your prospects are looking for. The most common are eBooks, video series, or audio series.

By taking these small steps toward creating an online presence with an attraction marketing system you’ll be able to see the changes in your business.

Receiving spam comments and going through them has to be the biggest headache.

The sad part spammers really abuse it with their automated commenting systems.

Spammers will try to spam everything if they can get away with it. They’ll spam blog post, forums, and emails.

Lately I have been receiving way more spam comments than any other time. At least 60-70 a day easily. The most I’ve received was 100 in a day.

This issue is occurring because of the automated spam programs that are available. I have to say I’m glad that Akismet catches all of them into the spam folder.

The worse part is that I have to swift through the spam folder to catch a real comment that got sent there from a real person. The part I dislike the most is having to read those crazy spam comments. Where I wouldn’t even dare to write about.

I going to share with you a simple plugin that I added to stop spam comments.

The name of the plugin is SI Captcha.

It’s a Captcha image verification spam-blocker

This plugin rocks! You’ll find it by the submit button when commenting. It’s been 24 hours since I had it installed. I received zero spam comment in my spam folder. Remember I was receiving 60-70 on average per day.

SI Captcha is a popular plugin within the Wordpress community.

Basically the way it works, before a person can submit a comment. The reader has to type the image verification text in a textbox to allow the comment to get process.

The only disadvantage I can see. It adds one more extra step before the reader can submit their comment. But this one more extra step is all worth it than having to go through a bunch of ugly spam comments in the spam folder.

With SI Captcha if you are having problem reading the image it will allow you to hear it.

If you don’t have a Captcha anti-spam device installed. I highly recommended it!

I’m still amazed how I don’t even have one automated spam comment in my spam folder. Now, this won’t stop a spam comment if someone is manually entering the comment.

Do you know that commenting on a blog can be very powerful?

It can be another source for you to generate traffic to your blog.

If you know as a reader that your material is good within your blog. Then by commenting it allows readers to decide if it’s worth checking your site or blog.

That is the reason why I like to use CommentLuv plugin.

CommentLuv gives the individual that is leaving a comment an opportunity to show of their latest post title on my blog. If another reader likes the title they see they will click on it. Basically it provides the reader a preview of your work.

Now, I’ve seen my share of individuals missing out on the opportunity by making mistakes when leaving comments.

I’m going to share with you the 3 most common mistakes individuals make by commenting.

1. Leaving unnecessary comments. When you leave something that is not even related to the topic that was just discussed. It’s guarantee disapproval. Most blogger are not going to approve a comment that seems like it was generate from software.

Hear me out on this, there are automated commenting software that does nothing but spit out spam comments. They are targeting the blogger that is not monitoring their comments.

How you should comment - Think about what you want to say. Keep it relevant to the topic that you just read. Add value in your comment for individuals that will be reading it.

2. Adding  spam links  - This is very annoying when you are moderating the comments and they contain spam links. Some folks will leave a line or two and then short spam links afterward.

Now, you do have those individuals that do provide good info in their comments but then add links to affiliate products or inappropriate sites.

How you should comment – Remember that the space you are writing on doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to the blog owner. So don’t go try selling your products on a blog that you don’t own. If you want to sell a product ask for permission.

3. Not respecting the community within the blog - Get a feel for the community. If you see that everyone in the community is relax and fun. Then have fun with your comments. If you see that the community is mostly serious professionals don’t bother trying to be the comedian.

How you should comment - Learn about the community within the blog. I’ve visited blogs were everyone was serious and I like to have fun with my comments. In this case I had to keep it professional.

As you can see in this community we like to share and have fun. There are some really cool readers that visit this blog.

So enjoy commenting on blogs. It will drive traffic to your blog or site. I can show you stats of data of individuals that comment everyday and receive some pretty cool traffic from this blog.

You can find these questions by visiting forums and see how many times questions are being ask. Don’t forget to do some keyword research as well when gathering this info for SEO Copywriting.

2. Give your best information. By you providing your audience the best information, you will be different from everyone else. At first you will question it or even be afraid too. But here is the deal, you want to build long-term trust with your readers.

If you are providing top notch quality info. Then people are going to make it worth while to visit and read. It builds your readership.

3. Keep your readers on your blog. The simplest way to accomplish this, is by including links to other post you’ve written. Not only is this good for SEO and creating backlinks within your post.

Your readers will have the ability to read similar content you’ve written. The key is to provide links to relevant subject. This will allow you to maximize the readership within your blog.

When you increase traffic it means an increase in sales, opt-ins, and loyal readers.

When you build backlinks, it becomes easier to generate organic traffic. Now, don’t forget since you are going to be driving traffic to your blog or site. Make sure you have valuable content available for them since this is targeted traffic that you’ll be generating.

Yesterday evening I was chatting with someone about launching their business blog.

You see they want to start making money online and generate leads for their business. Nothing wrong with this picture. That’s what I’m doing.

Now this is where most individuals are faced with at the beginning. They spend to much time studying everything.

Stop trying to know it all

Don’t miss understand me. You do have to learn some basics to get your business blog up. But don’t try to learn everything about Copywriting, SEO, PPC, or Video Marketing.

If you are planning to launch a business blog and your main focus is going to be primarly writing content. Then hands down you want to learn about Copywriting. Don’t worry about SEO at the beginning.

Once you feel you have the rhythm of writing content. Then start learning the basics of SEO. So you can start implementing it to your content. Now, if you are going to primarly do Video Marketing. Learn it first, then dive into SEO.

Don’t do the mistake of getting yourself so confused by diving into all the programs that are available and then do nothing with it. Starting out you don’t need to have all of the information to jump start your business blog.

The down affect of information overload

This is what I do know when you are faced with information overload. You can have the tendency to get lazy. Let me explain, you sit down and just keep on feeding yourself with information without you even thinking about implementing it.

The goal is not to be the Guru overnight. I know individuals that try to look like a guru. I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t know everything about Copywriting, SEO, Video Marketing, or PPC.

What I do know is take action and learn in the process of performing. As I’m performing and learning, why not share the information with fellow internet marketers.

Do you enjoy eating?

I heard this analogy about information overload and it stuck with me. Primarily because it deals with food and I enjoy eating.

Think of information as food and when you over eat you don’t feel to good. When you eat too much you can get lazy and sick sometimes. Therefore you eat in moderation or small portions so your stomach can digest it.

Well, information overload does have the same affect. You feel sick over time. Just some of the feelings can be lost of focus, frustration, or depression.

Having the symptoms of information overload can even shut you down from being creative.

How to prevent it

The best way to prevent information overload as you are going through blog post, forums, or information you purchased. Is make sure you save the information you just read into file or by bookmarking it for later use.

Now, if what you just read sounds cool but you are not at that level of implementing it yet…Save it and move on!

The secret is to take what you currently know and implement it ASAP. Once you get going with your business blog, content, or video you’ll start to dig back to some of the materials you’ve read.

Don’t get paralyzed in the early stages of implementing your business blog. Develop your momentum and learn in the process. By using this strategy you’ll be gradually be educating yourself.

Before you know it, you’ll know more and understand it so you can educate others.
