Blog or Website is a question most business owners are asking today.

This has to be one of the top questions I receive when I’m talking with business owners.

If you currently have a site and debating should you keep it and add a blog along with it. Or simply start all over with a blog. Hopefully I’m able to help you with that decision.

If you are reading this and owned a site in the past and now own a blog. You know that you are receiving far more traffic to your blog than your website.

Here’s some data I gather from HubSpot.

Companies that uses a blog receive far better marketing results -

- Receiving 55% more visitors than a regular website

- Generating 97% more inbound links than a site

- Getting 434% more indexed pages

Being a business owner the main focus when having an online presence is to generate visitors. The more visitors you are able to generate it will convert to leads and ultimately SALES.

Why is it so important to generate inbound links? This is a question that I don’t get asked to often because most business owners don’t know what is an inbound link.

Inbound links are import to signal the search engines the authority of a blog. It helps to get index and position within the search engines.

Link building is the number one challenge for business owners.

The reason link building is so important:

- It will provide you with direct traffic to your blog

- It will help you get rank on first page of search engines for targeted keywords

Having pages index in the search engines gives you an advantage of being found by your clients or prospects. The more blog post you have index the more advantage you have over your competition.

With a website it takes a lot of work to create a page or content versus a blog.

Here is an example so you really understand what I mean.

If you have a website with 10 pages. You are going to have a total of 10 indexes in the search engines. If you have a blog with the same amount of pages, plus you add 10 content post. Now, you will have 20 indexes in the search engines.

The beauty about blogs it is so much easier to create content within minutes so you can educate your prospects. This will allow you to dominate your competition within the search engines. In the end, translates to traffic – leads – sales.

Follow these 6 simple article marketing tips to generate FREE targeted leads.

1. Know your Market – This is the simplest strategy and yet so many ignore it! Do a research on your competition and market. Select topics to write about that your competition is not covering for your market. This is a very simple strategy and it allows you to dominate!

2. Know your keywords – Why not spy on your competitors and see what keywords they are targeting. That gives you a starting point. This is not cheating! It’s called…Competitive Market Analysis

3. Don’t forget to use keyword phrases – Once you have a list of keywords or phrases. Narrow it down by gathering information to see how competitive the keywords are by using keyword tools.

4. Study your keyword competition – By doing this task you’ll know which phrases to go after so you can rank on page 1 of Google. Don’t ignore the keywords with low competition and long tail keywords.
