How to Tell if the Blog You Are Visiting is a DoFollow or NoFollow Blog

Dofollow Blog

From Monday’s post I received emails via Facebook asking, “How can you tell if the blog is DoFollow or NoFollow?

In case you missed Monday’s post…click here

I do want you to know that by increasing your backlinks it improves your search engine rankings and increases traffic to your blog. One strategy that helps increase traffic flow is by commenting.

Now, early on when I launched this blog I was commenting very often on blogs thinking I was receiving a backlink from it.

Well, guess what…If it’s a NoFollow blog you are not receiving any backlinks.

So, I created this video showing you how to tell if a blog is a NoFollow blog or DoFollow blog…

To Your Success,

Josh Garcia

Before you go, go ahead and share this with you friends on Twitter & Facebook by pressing the 2 little buttons on the top right (blue & green button) :)

While you’re at it, love to connect with you on facebook & twitter

Did this video help you out in identifying a DoFollow blog vs. NoFollow blog?

P.S. Are you ready to take that leap of faith to go to the next level? I’ll ask it again…Are you ready to succeed? Do you know that you were made for more. What you have been reading on all of my post, I have been applying to my life and business. Guess what… I’m getting great results. I’ll be more than happy to share this with you, but I’ll warned you first you must be ready to receive. If you are not ready to receive, it will not work. You hold the key to your success in your business.

If you seriously want to turn your business and life around for not the good, but the best. Fill out your name and contact details in the box below. Lets start creating what you deserve in your life.

I have been there and done the same thing as you Josh.

Make good quality comments and dozens of blogs, only to find that you have obtained back links from a handful. This can be really discouraging, especially for the newbie.

Great video by the way, and very generous for you to show us. I use an ‘SEO’ toolbar in my Google Chrome browser, I downloaded the extension file somewhere off the net, I can’t remember where, otherwise I would post it here.

Anyway, the toolbar I use highlights all of the ‘no follow’ links on a site, it’s brilliant and saves a lot of time. It also provides other important pieces of data such as the number of backlinks a site has, its Alexa rank, PR and even the number of pages indexed.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the compliment on the video. I’m just glad that I was able to educate a lot of bloggers on this topic. So many think just because they are commenting on a blog that they are receiving a backlink automatically. Just like I mentioned, I used to think that at the beginning of my online marketing business.

Have a great day!

Josh, this is a great easy to understand video. When you did the video I had not uploaded the dofollow plugin. You said that my blog was a dofollow. Would this have been because I used commentlove? Anyway I have uploaded the dofollow plugin so should be covered anyway.

Thanks again

Wow, Josh….well done on this video tutorial! I have read many a post about DoFollow/ NoFollow….and never REALLY got it until now. Well, I got the concept, but not the application. So thank you!

I am now a DoFollow blog! And I have the awesome tools from SEObook! woo hoo! (now just need to watch THOSE tutorials!).

Anyhow, I’m curious if the reason you use the captcha code is because there is more spam as a DoFollow blog? I never have spam problems with Akismet ~ if anything, I have to go in to spam and retrieve quality comments. The reason I ask is because I’m not personally a fan of the captcha codes OR moderation….but have seen both recommended as a DoFollow blog.

Thanks so much!

Josh thank you so much for this video tutorial. I’m a relative newcomer to Blogging and i only recently heard the term No Follow Blog. What I learned disappointed me as I was still under the naive impression that commenting and contributing would lead to reciprocal links and improve my Blog’s SEO.

Anyway – it sees that the DoFollow plug in solves the backlink issue and I’m delighted to have been given such a comprehensive explanation
I am now a DoFollow and a Comment Love blog.

Checking the link status whatever it’s dofollow or not is pretty easy in Google Chrome, Simply right click the links and click Inspect Element. If the link tag(ref=) says nofollow. You got a nofollow blog on your hands.

Thank you for the excellent video! I wanted to find out how to tell whether a blog was dofollow without the use of a plug in, but no one else seemed to be addressing that part of the issue! Also, I wanted to know if SEO for Firefox was a safe plug in, and since you use it I feel more confident in downloading it. Thanks again :)

There’s the same method in chrome. Right click a link and click inspect element then you can see the code….
