Let’s take a minute or two so I can discuss on how to stimulate the traffic to revive a blog.
The one thing that most bloggers hate to deal with is having a blog that once had good amount of traffic coming to it and now it’s almost dead.
What is even worse than that is having a blog that was generating an income and now the income is almost at a halt.
Most marketers have a hard time dealing with the second scenario. Due to the fact of all the hard work that was put into the project for it someday to die.
You know that I’m an internet marketer. I own a handful of blogs that are niche specific some of the blogs are seasonal that generate an income. Therefore, I maintain them on a daily basis by checking the stats and the traffic coming to them.
What makes a blog go backwards is the lack of traffic. When you understand the foundation of traffic generation it is somewhat difficult to have a blog go backwards.
There are multiple reasons why a blog starts to die. One of the main reason is simply neglecting the blog. A blog is content driven. Therefore, if you are not adding new content. Good Luck in generating traffic!
If you are the owner of a blog that is dying you must identify why the traffic is disappearing. By identifying it you can revive the blog by fixing the problem.
So allow me to chat with you and share some simple strategies that will help you stimulate your blog.
What I’m about to share with you can be applied to any blog so you can increase the traffic.
3 Simple strategies that you can apply today to revive that blog
1) Find ways to link your blog: If you own other sites or blogs go ahead and start linking them together only if they are in the same niche.
Are you networking with other bloggers?
This is a huge mistake I see bloggers make. They don’t network with individuals. Do you realize that you can cross promote each other by placing links on the blog or by posting as a guest.
Finding ways to link does take time but it is well worth the time investment!
2) Content can’t be garbage: You must be able to put together content that readers are searching for and want to read. If you are going to invest the time in cross promoting content. You make sure that the content you are going to provide is information that people need to know about.
Spend the time in doing research so you can come up with topics to write about. You’ll want your content to flow with the other persons blog you are posting as a guest or linking.
3) Commenting: This strategy is underestimated by most bloggers that have no clue how powerful it is. The key is to comment on other blogs that are related to your blog.
This will generate traffic only if you take the time to leave a decent comment. The most click comments are the ones with questions in them.
This strategy is the most simple one to apply but yet missed by most bloggers.
If you want to prevent your blog from failing you’ll need to master traffic generation methods. Take this information that I just provided and apply immediately. Don’t wait until the blog is completely dead.

Hey Josh,
Your tips are great especially commenting which is priceless and blog commenting is probably the easiest way to get people back to your blog. It also helps if you want to make a guest post to a big blog one day. How do you even get in contact if that blogger doesn’t know who you are? Do you think you’d have a better chance getting your guest post published if you’re leaving regular, value-adding comments to that blog? I think you would. Nice post.

Hi Anthony,
Those are great questions. When it comes to guest posting. The best thing to start the relationship is by visiting the blog periodically and comment about their work every time. This will allow the blog owner to recognize you as a loyal reader and start building a relationship. Plus you’ll know what the blog is about.
If you try to get a hold of the blog owner and they don’t have a clue who you are it is going to be a challenge to be featured as a guest blogger.
Have a wonderful day!
These are some great tips. I am glad that these things are starting to get a lot of attention especially commenting and replying on blogs. I have seen some great conversations starting to take place on mine and other peoples blogs. They have become social media sites of their own when you commit to keeping good content and stimulate that kind of activity your blog will be far from dead.

Hi Steve,
That is great that you are seeing the benefits of commenting. It is a powerful tool!
Have a great day!
I’m always amazed by how some bloggers fail to realize #2, that content can’t be crap. No matter how much you promote, a flat-out bad blog isn’t going to get traffic. You need to provide an actual reason for people to stop by, and come back.

Great points to bring out. It’s never ceased to amaze me the level of traffic that you can get just by commenting on a consistent basis on blogs in your industry.
Staying in touch with the community is a great way to revive that ol’ blog.

Hey Josh,
People totally underestimate the power of commenting. Just by commenting on other blogs, it took mine to a level that it wouldn’t have been otherwise in a short amount of time.
Excellent tips!

Thanks for the reminder. I really need to start making more connections with other bloggers and commenting more on the blogs that I’m reading. I like your #2. Links and commenting are great but content is the key. Do you agree with that?
.-= Phil Aguilar´s last blog ..3 Reasons MLSP is the Answer to Your Problems =-.
Hi Phil,
Having great content is important. You don’t want to drive traffic to a blog and have the visitors leave after 10 seconds because of garbage content. There is way too much of that right now.
Have a great day!
Hey Josh,
I never seems to amaze me how powerful being consistent and providing something people appreciate can have a dramatic effect on your traffic results.
I experienced this with one of my other sites. I was providing content for it consistently, but then I slowed down. As I did I saw that the traffic dropped.
Since then I’ve taken the committed approach to continuously serve as much as can and of course with the highest amount of value that I am capable of doing.
The results have been nothing short of amazing.
Ok…I said enough, I guess you can tell I enjoyed this subject.
Have a great day buddy,

Hey Josh,
Those are all important pointers. There are a lot of blogs out there with crap for content. Either that or it just looks like it because of the way it’s presented.
You’re right about commenting. Whew, what a difference!
Nicely put!
Susanna
Hi Susanna,
There are a lot of blogs that have garbage on them. That is why folks like you stand from the crowd. Always providing value!
Have a great day!
Great points here Josh. I think another excellent way to increase one’s traffic is to ask, “What can I do to be different with my blog?”
Word of mouth as we know is one of the most powerful mobilizers of people but it will only happen if you have something to offer worth mobilizing for!

Hi Tommy,
Great to see too my friend!
The relationships that can be built by commenting are valuable.
Have a great day!
Hey Josh
If a blogger did everything right when it came to traffic and then wrote crap no one would come back. And I have read some major crap
People can tell when someone spins an article or pays someone else to write them. Those articles tend to lack the personal touch.
I am of the opinion that if you write good content and provide value everthing esle will fall into place when you learn the skills to build traffic.
Great stuff as usual Josh.

You’re absolutely correct! If you start off on the right path the rest will become fall into place. However, you have to make it fall in the right path. It isn’t going to happen on it’s own.
Have a great day!
Hi Josh,
Leaving comments is easy to do but yet so many people don’t do it or understand the power of doing it. When I started to do this it kept a steady flow of traffic to my blog. Content is king. Great post.

Hi Tristram,
Commenting is a simple strategy that is over looked by most individuals. I still today receive traffic from old comments I left on very high popular blogs.
Have a great weekend!
Josh I absolutely agree with you and the others here.. However, commenting is something most people dont know about and for me its a matter of good business habit, with many benefits.
So, post like this are valuable to share, so that people learn important stuff and start applying!
Keep rocking,
Milena
Hi Milena,
Commenting on popular blogs does have it perks. It is nice to leave a great comment for the individual that took the time to put together the information. In exchange for leaving an awesome comment you’ll get some traffic.
Have a great day!
