Effective Link Building Strategy You Don’t Want to Ignore

Effective Link Building Strategy

If you are wondering if commenting is really worth it.

Let me share with you and at the end of this post you tell me if it is worth it or not.

The goal of any internet marketer is to generate traffic, specifically targeted traffic.

One of the easiest and cheapest way to generate traffic is by commenting. If you have no money to do paid traffic then you really want to listen to what I’m going to share with you.

What to Look For Before Beginning Your Task

Look for blogs that are a relevant blogs in your niche. These blogs need to be active with updated post.

What to look for:

  • Are the post kept current.
  • Are people involving in the blog by commenting.
  • Are the post being shared in Social Media sites or Social Bookmarking sites.

By looking at these attributes it shows that the blog has an energy or a vibe. In other words, great place to hang out and meet other like minded individuals and at the same time why not drive some traffic to your blog or site.

Now, make sure you take the time to read the post or watch the video. Once in a while I’ll receive a comment that makes no sense to what I wrote or what is on the video. I simply delete them since all they are looking for is a back-link from my blog.

How To Drive Traffic

If you are looking at driving traffic from a comment leave a genuine comment that adds value.

There are 2 parts to leaving a comment:

  1. You want the readers to find what you have to say interesting. This will make others to click on your name to see what other information you share. I’ve found that by contributing and asking question produces the most clicks.
  2. Make sure what you say is intellectual in your comments. By contributing over time. You will start to be perceived as an expert in your market.

How to Use JoshGarcia.com For Link Building

The one thing I truly believe in is to give back to those that help this blog get recognize.

Let me show you how you can use JoshGarcia.com for link building:

  1. leaving a comment – Since all of my comments are do-follow, the link that you decide to leave as the URL will get some link love automatically.
  2. Top Commentators – Do you see on the right side of the home page you’ll notice that I have a section for Top Commentators. Well I like to reward the most contributing commentators with a back-link.
  3. CommentLuv – If you notice every time you leave a comment it searches for your latest blog post. So far that is 3 additional back-links.
  4. Link to my blog post – I allow the use of  ‘trackbacks’. So if you link back to one of my blog post, I will automatically reward you with a back-link to your site or blog. So share my blog post with your readers and followers. * I do not reward scraper sites or blogs

As you can see that is a total of four back-links from my blog. The minimum you’ll get by commenting on my blog is 3 back-links.

Do you see the power of commenting? If you do it right and frequently you’ll be able to drive a good amount of qualify traffic to your site or blog.

So let me ask you the question again, “Is it worth it or not for you to comment?”

To answer your question: ABSOLUTELY!

Once I started commenting on other peoples blogs I started to get some great traffic to my own blogs and several opt-ins.

Before I started commenting on other peoples blogs I was getting about 5-10 hits a day. The second day of consistant commenting I went all the way to 50 unique visits. Since then it just keeps growing.

So to anyone still questioning after reading Josh’s post, I just provided some more evidence for you.

You should listen to Josh. He was after all the top commentor over at Jason Better’s blog :)

Hey Josh,
Great article as I have been doing the same thing already. Another thing I do is Google link: competionswebsite then you get to see who your competition is linking to and go after those links and blogs. Hard for small companies to compete against large SEO firms but over time you can build a number of links.

Thanks for all the back-links. The reciprocity of commenting and sharing is something that is new to me. Coming from a corporate view we should all be sabotaging, not helping each other. I realize that some of us are competing for keywords but the spirit of commenting and especially dofollow blogs with commentluv has a more “survival of the cooperative” then”survival of the fittest” mentality.

Like most people here, you can gain so much yourself by being involved in commenting. I think the Top Commenters thing is a great idea. I’m going to implement that on my own blog to. Another great thing about linking from commenting is relevance, because you’re often commenting on a site that’s related to yours.

Commenting has always been a critical part of building my own business and I have met some really good friends along the way.

Of course you cannot comment everywhere, so I always look towards the high quality blogs that aren’t just posting once a month. That’s why I like to come and see what Josh is up to, plus he has a kick-ass name as well (lol).

Depending on how the person’s blog is set up, the worth of the comment as a backlink will be weighed differently by the search engines. However, if you are just starting out, comment as many places as you can and make sure that you keep going back for more.

Blog commenting is key. But commenting on the right blogs is also critical. Getting link love from BetterNetworker.com is highly recommended since they are an authority site in the network marketing niche.

Hi Jerome,

A lot of people don’t know that most blogs are ‘no follow’ meaning that you don’t receive a backlink when leaving a comment. However, my blog is a ‘do follow’ blog, so you receive a backlink from it.

The easiest way to find out if a blog is a ‘do follow’. Highlight the name of the person commenting, right click, and select view selection source. If it says rel=’external then it is a ‘do follow’ blog. If it says rel=”external nofollow or rel=”nofollow then it is a ‘no follow’ blog so you won’t receive any backlinks from it.
