LOL – “There is probably a plugin to install a plugin.” – that had me crying bro..
Josh – great idea, here are my three:
1. WordPress Stats – The best plugin I’ve seen for up-to-the-moment stats on your site. It’s also a blessing disguised as a curse since it does get a bit addictive.
2. PopUp Domination – it’s a paid plugin but it’s one that has worked wonders for me..
3. Akismet – it has blocked over 1,900+ spam comments.. its a life saver.
talk soon

Hey Josh,
I am not into blogging so I am ignorant about but it was a nice question you put in front of everyone. I am going to take note of Hector’s comment because I will need it when I start blogging.
Hi Josh, great question! I’ve never really thought of this, but I agree with you — there are indeed so many plugins! So here are my choices:
1. All in One SEO Pack – if you’re dead serious about SEO for your blog, I think this is a great plugin!
2. Akismet – spam fighter. need I say more?
3. SEO Smart Links – for inter-linking articles. I have yet to try this! I heard it’s great if you want to build page rank throughout your site!
Hi Josh,
Bit of a challenge to just choose three but if I was only permitted to keep three I would have to choose –
- Akismet (spam)
- All in One SEO Pack. (seo)
- WP-DBManager (for backing up)
Great idea for a post.
Cheers
Marcus

Though i have no stereo type plugins, but the plugins are for Polls and Survey, contact Forms and Mailing list. The last but not the list plugins for Design and Templates.
Hi Josh,
I like the idea!
1 – Aksimet = Keeps nasty spam in check.
2 – TweetMeMe = Ease of sharing
3 – Top Commentators = Gives my top commentators props by being on the front page and getting clicks to their blogs.

I really like the related posts plugin. This gives a list of related posts at the bottom of each post you write. It allows you to get more life out of your content, by giving people more reading material on the same subject.

Hey Josh
Top 3 plugins I cannot live without
1. Akismet – by far #1, I need this because of all of the wonderful spammers out there
2. Google XML Sitemaps – because I could not do this myself
3. WordPress Database Backup – emailed to me daily
.-= Peter Fuller MBA´s last blog ..Are You Making This Mistake When Setting Your Goals =-.
Josh:
Askimet- #1 with a bullet. It does such a wonderful job blocking spam
All in One SEO Pack- A great number two and a ‘must have”
Number three is tougher, cause there are a few that could fit in here (really useful but could live without)
WordPress Stats- I love stats and like to see “real time” how things are going and this tool makes it really easy

Hi Josh,
I’m using Subscribers Magnet (although I have to re-configure it since my blog “crash” last weekend) and I completely LOVE it. I also love the DoFollow plugin, and the WP Database Backup which saved my bacon last week!

Hey Josh, I guess my 3 most used plugins are:
1. All-in-one SEO
2. Akismet
3. WP Super Cache
I also see a lot of stuff mentioned here that I would have to check out, so thanks for putting this together.
Only 3 Josh!! That’s hard to choose cause I LOVE plugins
I guess my top three would be:
1)Akismet – best spam blocker ever!
2)WP Greet Box – gives a custom welcome to your viewers
3) Probably All in One SEO Pack – easy convenient and helps you rank!
That was hard lol!

Hi Josh,
a great take, your joke at the beginning blew me away too, like Hector.
Some of my favourite plug-ins have already been mentioned, above all Akismet.
Others I like are
1. The Top Commentators Widget
2. SEO slugs which removes common words like ‘a’, ‘the’, ‘in’ from post slugs to
improve SEO.
3. WordPress.com stats
I agree with you that one should be careful about installing shiny little new plugin.
Take care

Hey Josh,
I have been really looking for someone to roll out a “cutting edge” list of the top 10 plug-ins for WordPress and I have been scouring the net, reading articles, blog posts and even watching videos. I would have to say that the following three have had the most attention:
1. All in One Seo Pack
2. Akismet
3. WP Super Cache
I have a great deal of plug-ins on my blog and some I use all the time, some I rarley use, I would just recommend before you install a plug-in you back up – so if there is a problem, it is easily fixed.
It will be interesting on the type of responses you get here!
hahahaha install a plugin with a plugin hahahha great sense of humour Josh!
Now plugins wow there are so many.
1. Akismet – Spam
2. WP Database Backup – Why cause I have gone thru loosing my blog info – so this is A PRIORITY!
3. Comment Luv – It interacts our sites – gives back to our commentors.

Hi Josh,
I’m far from a blogging pro in terms of plugins but if I was to choose I would pick:
1) All in one SEO. Because I don’t need to understand code.
2) Akismet. For when I become huge and have annoying buggers knocking down my virtual door.
3) DoFollow. Because I understand how hard it is to get valuable links. Even if you have a valuable site.
Thanks for the post,
Brian

Aloha Josh, every one here bloggers!
Thanks for putting this out, great idea, helpful for all Josh.
Yes, it’s hard to select only 3, so as I have thes sames that have been mentioned already , I’ll add 2 , if that’s allowed..:-)
1- Askimet for the same reasons up there
2- WP FB Like : the button that links your blog to your FB , as if your post is already on your FB wall, and some one hits the “like” for the post.
3- Sexy bookmarks: instead of the All in One SEO ,that I desactivated, I put this one simpler to use and very attractive
4- the Tweetmeme and the FaceBook share buttons, just must have.
5- CommentLuv : very cool and nice to stimulate the comments and sharing from your readers.
Thank you also to evryone who replied to Josh here, it’s great!

1). Would have to be Jeff Johnson’s Free Traffic SEO Plugin
2) All-in one SEO
3) There are a couple tied for third, but as site speed has risen in search engine placement algorithims I will pick….(drum roll, please) WP Cache.
Thanks and keep on ‘pressin!

Hey, Josh – smart way to take a break from writing a post, yet still write a post
.
Here’s my 3 to help me keep my blog well maintained:
-Broken link checker
-Validation plugin (let’s you know when you have invalid code on your blog)
-Robots Meta plugin (helps you keep search engine spiders away for “not-so-important” content on your blog; helps greatly with duplicate content issue)

hey Josh,
Here are top plugins:
1. Free Traffic Getting SEO PluginTM – This is because it automates most of the SEO functions and is easy to install and handle.
2. OnlyWire for WordPress – This simply submits the post to over 40 social bookmarking sites in one fell swoop.
3. Wibiya Toolbar – This bar floats at the bottom of the blog and has many social functions.

Based from my observations, WordPress users top 3 plugins are commentluv, keywordluv and akismet. For those who use the two plugins, they attract commenters who can really contribute to their community. The latter of course fights for illegal acts of spammers.
