Ooh hard picking just 3. I use WooThemes and they have a lot of the must-haves already built in (SEO, XML sitemaps etc) so I don’t have to use up one of my three wishes on those :)

My three:

1. Akismet (be gone nasty, nasty spam)
2. WordPress Database Backup (absolute must have)
3. TweetMeme Retweet Button (got to love the viral nature of the web, it’s a marketer’s dream)

Hey Josh!

What a great post! I loved reading what everyone is using. I have to say that picking 3 IS hard. Akismet is a given, so I’ll add 3 more to that. ;)

My top would be
*Digg Digg
*Wordpress Thread Comment
*All in One SEO Pack

Thanks for another great post!

Mmmm…. Some great suggestions in there, some I haven’t used – always good to get new tips.

Personal faves of mine are:
- W3 Total Cache OR WP Super Cache (not sure which yet)
to speed up my blog
- All-in-one-SEO which does what it says on the tin
- Disqus – great comment system with the one fairly major drawback that it’s not compatible with CommentLuv…

Don’t think any of those are new to this extensive list but thought I’d share my choice as well. Cheers for opening up the discussion!

Besides the obvious wordpress back up, I wouldn’t like to be without:
tweet meme – love to know how many people liked my posts and spread the word
clicky stats – to keep an eye on my blog traffic
insights – helps you do everything quickly

Slightly niche, but the shoppress plugin is nice for those wanting to play with ecommerce.
